    Children are guaranteed to have a great time as they learn a collection of fascinating and mesmerizing tricks! Amaze family and friends with tricks that involve cards, ropes, coins, mind-reading, and more. While the tricks may appear difficult, you’ll discover that they are quick to learn and easy to perform. All materials are provided, and each child receives a magic kit to take home. Children are grouped by age and always learn tricks that are age-appropriate. Children can sign up again since new tricks are taught at each session.

    Topics covered in the first hour of class include: coming home from school, how to deal with strangers, proper use of your house key, checking the house before entering, answering the door & telephone, and how to use the phone in an emergency. In the second hour of class, we will discuss and have some hands-on practice with some of the most common first aid occurrences. This is NOT a certification class, but rather an informational class for children under the age of 11.

    Learn how to win at chess! No previous knowledge of chess is necessary. Each class will consist of a fun interactive teaching period and guided practice time. Due to the small size of the group, each child will receive plenty of personalized attention. Both new and returning participants are welcome and will progress to the next level under the guidance of an experienced Chess Scholars coach. There will also be a chess competition with prizes!

    This camp is designed for both beginners and experienced young players. All participants will learn cool new strategies at the appropriate level from an experienced Chess Scholar coach. Each class will consist of a fun interactive teaching period and guided practice time. Children will have an opportunity to test for a Chess Belt® under a unique Chess Scholars system patterned after martial arts belts. There will also be a chess competition with prizes! Each camper will take home a chess set and an award. Please bring your own snacks and drink.

    229204 - Self Defense Seminar

    This workshop is designed to be extremely effective in teaching girls how to protect themselves. The central focus is to create an extremely safe learning environment while ensuring high quality service. All instructors are members of the Bolingbrook Police Department. Training includes practicing in full force self-defense techniques on a padded instructor as well as everyday safety skills which focus on awareness and prevention skills. The workshop emphasizes techniques that can stop an attack without violence. All workshops involve physical practice, role plays and stories to teach skills. Students should wear athletic clothing and gym shoes.
