Spanning 135 acres and two miles of trails, Lyman Woods connects people with nature and inspires appreciation and stewardship of natural areas through education and recreation.

    SCARCE, School & Community Assistance for Recycling and Composting Education, is a non-profit with a goal of creating sustainable communities. We will visit their headquarters in Glen Ellyn to sort through shipments of recyclables including books, buttons, crayons, electronics, and more! Cost includes transportation and supervision.

    229219 - Pool Hop

    Hang with your closest friends for the day at three water parks. We’ll start the day visiting Sea Lion Aquatic Park where you can experience two body fume slides, two drop slides and a vortex pool. Next, we will trek to Bolingbrook and splash around at Pelican Harbor. Our last stop will be Cypress Cove in Woodridge where you can enjoy three body slides, one tube slide, a 600-foot lazy river and much more. Concessions are available for purchase at each site. Please bring a towel, sunblock, water and money if you would like to purchase items from concessions. All participants must know how to swim. Pools will swim test upon arrival.

    Join us for a guided tour with Naperville Kayak. Their experienced kayak instructors will provide the safety equipment, teach us how to paddle and take us out on the water for two hours to play and experience nature. No experience required. Please bring bottles, sunscreen, and a snack.
    Concessions are available for purchase. This is a cooperative program with the park districts of Lisle, Westmont, Downers Grove, Woodridge, Clarendon Hills, Bolingbrook, Darien, and Oakbrook Terrace. Additional waiver needed for this trip.

    Get your friends together and meet up at Lisle Park District’s Sea Lion Aquatic Park. We are shutting the doors to the public and keeping it open late just for you! Our DJ will be playing all of your favorite songs while you swim or hang out poolside with all of your friends. There may even be a contest or two thrown in just for good measure. Register at your park district today, but if not you can pay at the door! Residents of Bolingbrook, Darien, and Lisle will receive the resident rate for this event. You do not need a Jr. High After Hours card for this event.

She’s best described as a cross between Shania Twain and Patsy Cline. Together, they bring Country Legend favorites, Loretta Lynn, Willie Nelson, Patsy Cline and so many more, to create an afternoon of Nashville Fun!     229906 - Arlington Park Racecourse

    And they’re off! It’s off to the Arlington Park Racecourse, described as “the most beautiful track in America,” for a fun-filled day at the races. We’ll have box seats which are under the roof for shade. Enjoy the beautiful park-like surroundings, magnificent horses and perhaps place a wager or two, if you’re feeling lucky. Food is available for purchase at Colby’s Food Court or the Terrace Café. You are free to eat at either venue or you may bring your food back to your box seat.

    Registration fee includes round trip motor coach transportation, box seat admission to the park and a racing guide.

    Heaven help 12-year-old Rudy after he tells his ruler-wielding teacher, Sister Clarissa, his plans to shop around for a more fun religion. It’s the 1950s and the Pazinski Family lives in a tiny apartment above the neighborhood bar they run. They face the real, and often comical, struggles of life in this funny and touching semi-autobiographical play.     229909 - Exploring Route 66

    Continuing to explore Route 66 - spending a day in Pontiac, Illinois. As we arrive at the Pontiac Museum Complex, we will be greeted at the front door by the tourism team with goodie bags and city buttons. We will visit the Route 66 Museum, Livingston County War Museum, Life in the 1940s Exhibit, Walldog Mural Museum, Music of the Civil War Exhibit, Old City Hall Shoppes, Route 66 Photo Journey Exhibit and The Bob Waldmire Experience, all located under one roof. You will find memorabilia from the glory days of the Mother Road including stories, artifacts and images in the Route 66 Museum. The Life of the 1940s Exhibit features four rooms, completely furnished with furniture and accessories from the era. Be sure to step into the “Stage Door Canteen” to enjoy some vintage 1940s music. Before lunch, the group will board a trolley for the Murals on Main Street Tour - Murals, Abraham Lincoln and History Tour of Downtown Pontiac and a walk across one of the Swinging Bridges.

    After lunch we will visit the Pontiac Oakland Automobile Museum and Museum of Gilding Arts. The focus of the Museum of Gilding Arts is the history, craft and use of gold and silver leafing in architecture and in decoration throughout a history that dates back to the days of the ancient Pharaohs of Egypt.

    Our last stop of the day before heading home is the Pontiac Community Art Center and The Historic Courthouse Square flanked with unique shopping and treats. When registering, please choose one of the following entrees: Broasted Chicken, Roast Beef, Walleye or Vegetarian Pasta Dish.
