    220113 - Babysitting Course

    The purpose of this course is to provide participants with the information and skills necessary to provide safe and responsible care for children in the absence of parents or guardians. This training will help participants develop skills in five critical areas: leadership, safety and safe play, basic care, first aid and professionalism. Fee includes American Red Cross Babysitting book. Participants should bring a lunch.

    220114 - Home Alone

    Topics covered in the first hour of class include: coming home from school, how to deal with strangers, proper use of your house key, checking the house before entering, answering the door & telephone, and how to use the phone in an emergency. In the second hour of class, we will discuss and have some hands-on practice with some of the most common first aid occurrences. This is NOT a certification class, but rather an informational class for children under the age of 11.

Students will improve their problem solving, math, and physics skills - all while engaging in exciting building projects. Each unit will focus on a specific area of engineering. The unit will culminate in a testing of studentsí final projects and each student will receive an award for their progress during the unit.
